Grantees for Pundi Budaya

Pundi Budaya has collaborated with the Oong Maryono Pencak Silat Award (OMPSA), a small program that funds efforts to support research, documentation and publication of material on pencak silat, an Indonesian martial art.

The collaboration between IKa and OMPSA has supported the following activities

  1. A book published by Gusman Natawijaya on Betawi Silat (Maen Pukulan Betawi), an ethnic group from the Jakarta region
  2. A book published by Edward Lebe (Pedoman Bergambar Mengenai Silat Minangkabau Baringin Sakti) focusing on the Silat of the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra
  3. A book published by Agus Mulyana (History, Philosophy, and Culture) on pencak silat more broadly

In 2017, IKa supported the dissemination of a book on diversity (Cerita untuk Sahabat – A Story for a Friend) which was published by the Indonesian Bishop’s Conference (KWI).

In 2018, IKa in collaboration with the Indonesian Art’s Coalition awarded grants for arts programs with the theme of democratization and diversity to 5 organizations:

  • Sanggar Seroja (Transgender Women Theater Group, Jakarta)
  • Ardy Ferdianto (individual, Jakarta)
  • Cinema Cirebon (Jakarta)
  • Khairiyah of Indonesia (Organization working on pluralism, tolerance and interfaith dialogue through creative media, Jakarta)
  • Komunitas Rumah Tanpa Jendela (RTJ – Drop in Center for Young People) (Depok, West Java)
