Activities Voice Better Together

The main aims of the Voice-Better Together program include: 1. overcoming barriers by the elderly survivors of the ’65 tragedy to social and economic benefits due to stigmatization and discrimination; 2. building a network of young people who care about human rights and are able to campaign on human rights principles; 3. strengthening organizations that support elderly survivors and whose role is important in promoting the right to recovery of the elderly survivors of the ’65 tragedy.

IKa, in partnership with Sekber ’65 and PBH Nusra, has carried out the following activities in order to fulfil these aims:

  1. Supporting elderly survivors of the ’65 tragedy to access social, economic and cultural services without discrimination.
  2. Identifying and advocating for the provision of social security for elderly survivors at local level and monitoring implementation.
  3. Strengthening youth communities to build and promote social acceptance of survivors of past gross human rights violations.
  4. Reclaiming and expanding civic space with creative campaigns through arts and culture
  5. Strengthening organizations that support survivors of past gross human rights violations to be independent and sustainable.
